Healing Evangelists
Webster defines evangelist as a person who evangelizes; specifically a
Protestant minister or layman who preaches at special services or an
enthusiastic advocate such an evangelist for a specific cause.
Mark 16:15-18
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to
everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who
refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany
those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in
new languages [tongues]. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if
they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place
their hands on the sick, and they will be healed [they will see them recover].”
(NLT)
The Encarta Dictionary defines it as somebody who tries to persuade other people
to become Christians, especially one who travels around speaking at public
meetings or making radio or television broadcasts. Jesus gave us the Great
Commission to go out and evangelize.
We are enthusiastic advocates for all parts of that commission—to Go and make
believers and to teach them to lay hands on the sick and see them recover.
We are healing evangelists or advocates of believers healing the sick today.
